What is a Spangle?

prospangle-1

One of the most common questions we get when people are looking at our SpangleElite product is “What IS a spangle?” Most people have not heard of this technology before, so they are curious about this new custom apparel technology.

A Spangle is a flat holographic disc of material that has been punched out of a larger roll of Spangle Tape.  This disc is put onto transfer tape than can then be heat applied to a garment similar to rhinestones or heat transfers or vinyl.

Check out the video below to see spangles in action.

Features of Spangles:

  • Soft to the touch
  • Sits completely flat on a garment
  • Very high ‘sparkle’ factor
  • Looks like a rhinestone
  • Significantly lower cost to produce than rhinestones
  • Incredibly faster to create than an automated rhinestone machine or weeding vinyl

Spangles have been growing in popularity for years and have become a hit in spirit wear, dance wear and fashion.
