Pre-Press Shirt
To remove moisture and bring the shirt to the correct pressingtemperature it is critical that the shirt is pre-pressed prior to applying the transfer.
PressureTrimFree, as with all transfer papersfor light shirts, requires Maximumpressure. Using maximum pressurewill ensure the transfer paper will peelcorrectly and increase the washabilityof the design.
PeelingIt is important to wait 7 to 10 secondsprior to peeling the transfer. Do notremove the shirt from the press priorto peeling, doing so will cause thetransfer to cool too quickly making thetransfer difficult to peel.
When peeling, use a slow and consistent motion.
DO NOT Cover your transfer with Teflon when pressing TrimFree.
Fabric Types – 7 to 10 Second Wait TimeTrimFree will work well on cotton, cotton blends and polyester. Mostt-shirt fabrics only require a 7 secondwait period prior to peeling, heavierfabrics such as sweat shirt materialusually require the full 10 seconds.
Because there is such a wide varietyto different fabrics we suggest youtest your material to determine thebest wait time.
Paper ModeFor the fuser to properly fuse thetoner to the paper we suggest usingHeavy Paper or Label Mode. Youmay need to test 2 or 3 differentsettings to find the best setting foryour printer. To check for good toneradhesion, run your finger across theprinted image. If any toner transfersto your finger you should set yourpaper mode setting on your printdriver to a heavier setting.
Loading and Exit TrayTrimFree should be printed usingthe by-pass tray. If your printer hasa rear exit door that will allow thepaper to exit straight out the back wesuggest you test the paper using thisconfiguration.
Suitable GraphicsTrimFree works best with graphics anddesigns that have solid colors such ascorporate logos or plain type.TrimFree is best suited for logos orgraphics, if you are printing largesquare images or photographs wesuggest using CL 135.
